MONTREAL I’m aware that it’s not always easy to arrange a successful and satisfying visit to another city. While visiting somewhere new can be an exciting adventure, finding out what is available and which options are the best ones for you can be both time consuming and frustrating. Montreal is a fascinating city with a unique character and the fact that French is spoken by the majority of its residents adds a distinct flavour to life here, a richness you’ll come to appreciate. It’s been my pleasure to have assisted friends in the past with these kinds of arrangements. I hope you find these suggestions to be both interesting and informative. Holt Renfrew (Corporate limos, private plane) Montreal Limo Montreal Dorval Limousine Le St-James Le St-James is an authentic European style hotel with a limited number of rooms. It caters to an upscale clientele and provides an unrivalled guest experience. It’s located in the Financial District next to Montreal Trade Centre with easy access. Intercontinental Yes, it is a business hotel, but the Intercontinental maintains a very warm feel with a comfortable piano-bar & lounge area. This establishment is located in the same building as the Hotel St-James. Le Germain This modern boutique hotel in the heart of town boasts a classy feel & impeccable service making it a great choice. As a bonus, most downtown attractions are only a short walk away. The rate includes a generous continental breakfast.. (Note their brand-new location in the heart of Toronto offers one of the best experiences I’ve had in North America). Sofitel True to the brand, this hotel is both modern and chic with medium sized accommodation. Often crowded, it is still a very good choice for the business man in need of a downtown location. Hôtel Place d’Armes The Place d’Armes is a sister property to the Nelligan but much larger. The rooms are nicely appointed and the hotel features a trendy bar & restaurant. Appealing to the “young and beautiful” people of the city, it can sometimes be crowded. It is located near the famous Notre Dame Cathedral, just on the edge of Old Montreal. Nelligan Warm rooms many featuring brick walls, fireplaces and beautiful bathrooms are the hallmark of this hotel. Located in the heart of Old Montreal it’s surrounded by interesting art galleries & small restaurants. Parking can be a challenge however excellent Valet service is available. Note that during the winter season, Old Montreal can be extremely quiet. Gault The Gault is known for its stylish rooms that have a very modern and unique look. No wonder I’ve chosen this gorgeous establishment for photo shoots on several occasions! Located in Old Montreal, just a few blocks south of the Hotel Le St-James and Intercontinental it’s a small boutique hotel with personalized service. St-Paul Minimalist, chic and trendy are words that best describe this boutique hotel located near the financial district in a remote part of Old Montreal. Loews Hotel Vogue Centrally located in the midst of trendy nightclubs and boutique shopping experiences, not to mention many delightful restaurants, this hotel enjoys a certain vibe of its own. Like its surroundings it can be crowded and loud at times. A room key is required to access the elevators making it somewhat less discreet. Le Club Chasse et Pêche This is one of my favourite restaurants in Montreal. The clientele in this very discreet environment is made up of both business people & connoisseurs of good taste. The hunting and fishing theme taken from its name extends to the cuisine, which includes everything from Barramundi to American Kobe beef. The service and the food are always excellent and I highly recommend it. Europea It's been a few years now since Europea first gained acclaim as one of the City’s top restaurants with its meticulously prepared cuisine melding traditional French technique with a modern twist and local ingredients. Their tasting menu is one of the best I’ve had, and service is friendly & flawless! La Queue de Cheval Located in downtown Montreal, La Queue de Cheval is notable for its excellent service and outstanding cuisine. Specializing in dry-aged USDA Prime beef, they also offer the finest selection of fresh fish and seafood complemented by an award-winning wine list. Nuances Winner of several awards, this restaurant has limited seating and is discreetly located on the top floor of the Casino de Montreal. The superb decor and the fine cuisine make it a definite experience to remember. Toqué! This restaurant specializes in market cuisine with new delicacies appearing on the menu regularly depending on seasonal availability. Each offering from their famous tasting menu will only further pique your senses and leave you anxious for the next. A selection of wine compliments the seasonal menu ensuring that you experience its full potential. Café Ferreira This is definitely a place to experience the best Portuguese cuisine in Montreal. You can expect the freshest fish and meats pared with a selection from the cellar’s impressive Portuguese wines and ports. This wonderful spot is truly a must for the refined gourmet looking for something different. Il Mulino Il Mulino offers not just good northern Italian cuisine, but unparalleled service and exquisite attention to detail. Located in a tiny but cozy little place off the strip in Little Italy, walking into Il Mulino is like taking a step back in time. The service is gracious, the wine list extensive and there is a real passion for food. Dishes such as roasted baby goat keep the mix of Italian nonnas and high powered businessmen coming back. Lemeac A busy French bistro where the food is always good and the service efficient and informal. After 10pm they have a different menu special catering to late diners. Mikado If you are in the mood for sushi then heading to one of the many Mikado locations is a great choice. The fish is scrupulously fresh, the appetizers are extravagant and the sushi is just fantastic. The place contains a pure jumping sushi bar atmosphere. The dinning room is casual but elegant.
